Chief Secretary S.P. Goyal Holds Weekly Review Meeting, Issues Key Directions to District Officials

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary S. P. Goyal held a weekly review meeting with divisional commissioners and district magistrates of the state through video conferencing and issued important instructions related to multiple administrative departments.

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary reviewed the functioning of the Stamp and Registration Department and directed officials to expedite pending entries on the Prerna Portal related to plot evaluations for land parcels located near roads and populated areas.

He also instructed authorities to complete the long-pending revision of valuation lists in districts including Varanasi, Noida, Gorakhpur, Chandauli, Ghazipur, Pratapgarh, Fatehpur, Rampur, Mau, and Pilibhit.

The Chief Secretary emphasized that district magistrates, Additional District Magistrates (Finance and Revenue), and Assistant Inspector General courts should ensure speedy disposal of pending stamp-related cases. He also directed officials to expedite land allocation for sub-registrar offices in districts such as Agra, Firozabad, Kanpur, Ghaziabad, Meerut, and Mathura.

The meeting also reviewed progress under the “Gyan Bharat Mission,” which focuses on the preservation of rare manuscripts and historical documents. S.P. Goyal instructed officials to identify manuscripts available with government and private institutions, monasteries, temples, libraries, and individuals, and ensure that they are scanned and uploaded to the designated portal to preserve India’s cultural and intellectual heritage.

In addition, the Chief Secretary directed district administrations to regularly review farmer registration drives and ensure 100 percent registration of farmers within the stipulated timeline. He said timely completion of farmer registration would help improve the delivery of government welfare schemes to beneficiaries.

The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary (Culture) Amrit Abhijat, Principal Secretary Agriculture Ravindra, Principal Secretary Stamp and Registration Amit Gupta, along with several senior government officials.
